Welcome to an exciting new school year! I am honored to continue serving as your principal at Rialto Middle School. Working alongside our dedicated staff, families, and community to support our amazing students is a true privilege. At RMS, we remain deeply committed to transparency, equity, and honesty in everything we do to ensure every Tiger thrives.

First, I want to extend a huge thank you to our incredible Tiger families. Thanks to your unwavering support and partnership last year, our school achieved fantastic growth! Together, we saw improvements in both student attendance and academic success. This proves that when the school and home connect, our students win. Let’s keep this wonderful momentum going!

This year, our main academic goal is rigorous student engagement. In plain terms, this means we want our students to be actively involved in their own learning. Instead of just listening to lectures, your children will be hands-on: asking big questions, working through real-world problems, collaborating in teams, and taking ownership of their education. When students actively participate, learning becomes meaningful and lasting.

To give our students the absolute best start to their day, we are thrilled to bring back daily morning Homeroom this year. Homeroom will take place at the very beginning of each day and will not rotate. This is a vital part of the school day during which students eat breakfast together, hear important school announcements, and participate in community-building activities. Because Homeroom sets the tone for the day, every student must be present and on time. It is the official start of our school day!

We expect all Tigers to live by our core values: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe, the foundation of The Tiger Way. Our school uses Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and AVID strategies to celebrate student growth, both academically and socially. Please take a moment to review the Student-Parent Handbook with your child to reinforce these positive routines, which are available on the school website.

We encourage you to stay deeply involved with RMS this year. You can make a difference by:

• Joining our school committees, such as the School Site Council (SSC), MTSS/PBIS, ELAC, or AAPAC.
• Attending our regular "Coffee with the Principal" meetings.
• Engaging with your child daily about what they are learning in class.

Together, we will make this school year one of incredible academic and social growth. Please never hesitate to reach out with questions, ideas, or feedback. Let’s make it a great year to be a Tiger!

¡Bienvenidos a un nuevo y emocionante año escolar! Me honra seguir siendo su director/a en la Escuela Intermedia Rialto. Trabajar junto a nuestro personal dedicado, familias y comunidad para apoyar a nuestros increíbles estudiantes es un verdadero privilegio. En RMS, mantenemos un firme compromiso con la transparencia, la equidad y la honestidad en todo lo que hacemos para garantizar el éxito de cada estudiante.

En primer lugar, quiero expresar mi más sincero agradecimiento a nuestras increíbles familias de los Tigres. Gracias a su apoyo y colaboración inquebrantables el año pasado, ¡nuestra escuela logró un crecimiento fantástico! Juntos, vimos mejoras tanto en la asistencia de los estudiantes como en el éxito académico.Esto demuestra que cuando la escuela y el hogar se conectan, nuestros estudiantes ganan. ¡Sigamos con este maravilloso impulso!

Este año, nuestro principal objetivo académico es el compromiso estudiantil riguroso.En términos sencillos, esto significa que queremos que nuestros estudiantes sean verdaderamente involucrados y activos en su propio aprendizaje.En lugar de limitarse a escuchar clases magistrales, sus hijos participarán activamente: formularán preguntas importantes, resolverán problemas del mundo real, colaborarán en equipo y se responsabilizarán de su propia educación. Cuando los estudiantes participan activamente, el aprendizaje se vuelve significativo y duradero.

Para brindar a nuestros estudiantes el mejor comienzo posible en su día, estamos encantados de retomar el aula matutina diaria este año. La tutoría tendrá lugar al comienzo de cada día y no habrá rotación.Esta es una parte vital de la jornada escolar en la que los alumnos desayunarán juntos, escucharán anuncios importantes de la escuela y participarán en actividades para fomentar la convivencia.Porque el aula marca la pauta del día,todos los estudiantes deben estar presentes y ser puntuales.¡Hoy comienza oficialmente nuestra jornada escolar!

Esperamos que todos los Tigres vivan de acuerdo con nuestros valores fundamentales:sé respetuoso, sé responsable y mantente seguro,la fundación de El camino del tigre.Nuestra escuela utiliza las estrategias de Intervenciones y Apoyos Conductuales Positivos (PBIS, por sus siglas en inglés) y AVID para celebrar el crecimiento de los estudiantes, tanto académico como social. Les invitamos a revisar el Manual para Padres y Estudiantes con su hijo/a para reforzar estas rutinas positivas. Este manual está disponible en el sitio web de la escuela.

Te animamos a seguir participando activamente en RMS este año. Puedes marcar la diferencia de la siguiente manera:

• Únase a nuestros comités escolares, como el Consejo Escolar del Sitio (SSC), MTSS/PBIS, ELAC o AAPAC.
• Asistir a nuestra reunión regular "Café con la directora".
• Hablar diariamente con tu hijo sobre lo que está aprendiendo en clase.
